After working in the field of physics for more than 20 years, Dr. Birchak established an eponymous consultancy that continues only as a hobby. At the beginning of his career, he served as an associate senior research physicist for GM Research between 1966 and 1971. Subsequently, Dr. Birchak gained valuable expertise as a senior research physicist for Southwest Research Institute and as a research specialist for Babcock and Wilcox.
In 1979, Dr. Birchak transitioned into a supervisory position with NL Industries before becoming a member of the technical staff at Reliability Inc. Before retiring to focus on his hobby, he flourished as a principal research physicist for Halliburton Energy Services. Dr. Birchak retains his professional alignment with the IEEE, American Physical Society, the Sigma Xi Society and the American Society for Nondestructive Testing in order to remain aware of industry changes.

With the knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Birchak has contributed to various articles published in professional journals. His hobby investigates purifying waste-and-sea water without carbon emissions. Such water could make deserts bloom and thereby reduce greenhouse gases.
An expert in his field, Dr. Birchak earned a Bachelor of Science in physics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1961. He subsequently continued his studies at Rice University, obtaining a Master of Arts in 1964 and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics in 1966. Dr. Birchak concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1971.
Dedicated to his community, Dr. Birchak earlier devoted his time and resources to those in need through the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Lynchburg Methodist Church and Spring Woods United Methodist Church. Due to his outstanding work, he was recognized a Marquis Who's Who Top Professional and accepted the Marquis Who's Who Humanitarian Award and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Looking toward the future, Dr. Birchak intends to continue parlaying his knowledge of the field via his hobby.
