SACRAMENTO, CA, April 17, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mario Reyes has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Although he initially began his career in business as an accountant, Mr. Reyes soon came to realize that his life had a larger purpose. He joined The Salvation Army completing studies in Christian Ministry and Administration at the College for Officer Training at Crestmont in 1984. As an ordained ministry and officer in The Salvation Army he took assignments at various Corps (churches) and Community Centers. In 1998 he accepted appointment at Southern California Division as the Latino Programs Coordinator, a role he held until 2005. Subsequently, Major Reyes found success as the Director of Business Administration for The Salvation Army's College for Officer Training at Crestmont from 2005 to 2011.
For many years thereafter, Major Reyes flourished with The Salvation Army, gaining valuable expertise as a County Coordinator and a Corps Officer before retiring in 2017. Throughout his career, he became skilled in working with Christian nonprofit organizations, social services, event planning, management and church program evaluation. Additionally, Major Reyes has continued to contribute to those less fortunate through the local chapters of Rotary International and the United Way, as well as the Association of Business Administrators of Christian Colleges.
An expert in his field, Major Reyes earned an Associate of Arts in business management from East Los Angeles College in 1980. He later concluded his studies at the University of Phoenix, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in accounting and business management in 1998 and a Master of Business Administration in 2003. He later concluded his studies at the International College for Officer Training, London. Although he is now retired, Major Reyes hopes to continue working with Corps Officers that he meets as Internal Auditor to teach them all that he knows while encouraging them to be the best that they can be within their positions.
