An accomplished listee, Ms. Kao-Chase celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With more than 40 years of experience to her credit, Jenny Wei Liang Kao-Chase has excelled as the lifetime honorary president and the principal of the Chinese School of Southern Westchester in Scarsdale, New York, since 1999. In addition to this appointment, she worked as a voice teacher at the Music Conservatory of Westchester in White Plains, New York, from 1982 to 2002. Between 1973 and 2006, she further flourished as a professional singer. Previously, she served at the Chinese School of Southern Westchester in a number of capacities, including as the president of the board of directors and member from 1981 to 1998, the principal from 1981 to 1995 and the founder from 1981. Ms. Kao-Chase began her career as a music teacher with the Patchogue Board of Education 1968 and Yonkers Board of Education, a post she had held from 1969 to 1999.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Kao-Chase pursued an education at National Taiwan Academy of Arts before coming to Judson College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1966 in the States. She continued her academic efforts with a Master of Music, cum laude, at the University of Mississippi in 1968. She concluded her studies under the tutelage of Dolf Swing of The Juilliard School 1969-1972 and MaryGale Dowson 1975-1990 in New York City. Following these accomplishments, Ms. Kao-Chase took courses at the University of Bridgeport and was certified as an administrator in 1986.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Kao-Chase has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her immediate professional circles. She notably contributed as a church soprano soloist at the Church in the Highlands in White Plains between 1978 and 1992 as well as at Mt. Vernon Community Church from 1973 to 1978. A lauded singer in her own right who has provided her vocal talents to more than 100 weddings and funerals over 30 years, she has additionally performed as a soprano soloist at Lincoln Center from 1983 to 1985 and a soprano recitalist at Carnegie Hall in 1981. She also conducted one woman Chinese Landscape showcases for the Mobile Art Gallery, Merchants National Bank, the National League of American Pen Women, the University of Mississippi Museum between 1966 and 1984 and the Bronxville Public Library 1988. Ms. Kao-Chase found success with her recorded works as well, having been featured as a soprano vocalist on such albums as "Memory" in 1997 and "Phoenix Rising" in 2004.

At the peak of her career in 1989, she was struck down with Dystonia, a neural disorder in her mouth which made her unable to sing and speak for 8 years. With special medication, she regained the singing and gave the first beneficial recital in 1998 to a full house. After this experience, Ms. Kao-Chase decided to donate the proceeds from all her performances until her retirement in 2006.

In addition to her primary vocation, Ms. Kao-Chase remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. From 1997 to 1999, she maintained her involvement with the Westchester Association of Chinese Americans in the role of president and Organization of Chinese Americans. She was also associated with the Yonkers and New York Federation of Teachers, the Westchester Musicians Guild and the Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity. In 2000, Ms. Kao-Chase became one of the founders of the Westchester Evergreen Club.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Kao-Chase has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. Celebrated as an Outstanding Alumna of the National Taiwan University of Arts in 2000, she was recognized by the Chinese American Arts Council with the Art Achievement Award in 1999. Accepting a Lifetime Certificate of Honor from Delta Omicron in 1982, she was subsequently presented with the Dynamic Achiever Award from the Organization of Chinese Americans in 1989 and the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Westchester Association of Chinese Americans in 1996. Proud to have performed in front of a sold-out audience in her aforementioned Carnegie Hall debut, Ms. Kao-Chase was selected for inclusion in the 26th edition of Who's Who in the World and multiple volumes of Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women.

Having presented her talents to musical organizations, universities, conferences, churches and community societies across the globe, Ms. Kao-Chase was drawn to the field of music by her childhood affection towards the art form as well as the influence of her father, who was an amateur Chinese opera singer in addition to his career as an army colonel. She cites her establishment of the Chinese School of Southern Westchester as the highlight of her storied career, as the school's unique learning process and cultural significance has received attention from artists and media outlets worldwide. Further motivated by her many colleagues and friends such as Annelle Jerome who became her God mother. Cecelia Shen and MaryGale Dowson are her mentors for her singing profession. Julia Tu and Haun Shou Meng are her educational mentors. Nien Tsu Hu is her art mentor. The most supportive person is her husband, Dr. Robert A Chase, an Organist/Choir Master, retired music professor, author and her accompanist and her beloved son Rob W. Chase, a rehabilitation therapist. Ms. Kao-Chase hopes to continue thriving in her present position while fostering the talents of her students and cementing her legacy as a magnificent musician and an esteemed educator in the years to come.
