With many years of food industry experience to his credit, Mr. Morello has served as the president of Aurora Importing & Distributing since 2013. Previously, he gained valuable expertise as a professional retailing team executive for Perennial Design Inc., the vice president of commercial programs for Sobeys and a self-employed consultant. Between 1973 and 2008, Mr. Morello held a plethora of positions with A&P Canada, including the chief merchandising officer of the Canadian company, the senior vice president of food basics merchandising, , the vice president of conventional format merchandising, the vice president and director of category management, the director of grocery merchandising, an inventory manager, a produce buyer, an assistant store manager, a produce manager and a produce clerk.
Despite the widespread economic stress, Mr. Morello is proud of doubling his business over the past five years. Alongside his team, he has remained focused on business development, leading to their unprecedented growth. In recognition of his outstanding work in the field, Aurora Importing & Distributing was honored as a Top Importer by GTA and a Top Italian Food Importer in Canada in 2019. During his spare time, Mr. Morello contributes to various community-based charitable organizations and is a member of the Canadian Italian Chamber of Commerce, the Retail Council of Canada, as well as the Italian Importing Councils.
In 1978, Mr. Morello earned a degree in business and mathematics from Wexford Collegiate. Looking toward the future, he intends to enter semi-retirement. Though he does not see himself ever leaving his company completely, Mr. Morello hopes to dedicate more time to his loving family and wonderful grandchildren.
