After working as a schoolteacher for more than five years, Mr. Baker pursued a different career path and returned to academia to study law. Upon his graduation, he began his career as the state prosecutor for Cherokee County before gaining valuable industry expertise in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Since the mid-1980s, he has served as an attorney-at-law with the Baker Law Firm, with which he specializes in criminal defense law. Even though his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Baker is especially proud of trying more than 30 murder trials, with 30 of those ruled as not guilty.
In 1971, Mr. Baker received a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern State University. Subsequently, he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He was later admitted to practice law through the Oklahoma Bar Association. Mr. Baker remains aware of changes in the field through his alignments with the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Due to his outstanding work in the field, Mr. Baker is consistently honored as an AV-Rated Attorney through Martindale-Hubbell.
