As a community leader, Mr. Montgomery has been affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio and the Boy Scouts of America in San Antonio as a member of the board of directors.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Montgomery earned a Bachelor of Art in political science at Duke University in 1975, followed by a law degree at Southern Methodist University in 1978. He has been admitted to practice law in Texas and Maryland, as well as before the U.S. District Court of the Eastern, Western, Southern and Northern Districts of Texas, the U.S. District Court of Maryland, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Recognized as a Super Lawyer in Texas, Mr. Montgomery has also been honored in Texas Monthly for his expertise and has notably accrued an AV Rating by Martindale Hubbell. He is also aligned with Rotary International as a member and the past president of the Alamo Heights Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of San Antonio at the Dominion, a past district governor and an international training leader. In 2009, he was also selected as an individual finalist for the San Antonio Ethics in Business Award by the San Antonio Business Journal.
