Having garnered a laudable reputation as a brilliant interior designer, Mr. Pagnotta strove for nearly three decades to build his portfolio in the heart of New York City. Working for Ariston Interior Designers for several years after college, he subsequently found success as the partner of L.I.T. Interiors from 1968 until 1982 and Design Mates Inc. between 1982 and 1989. In 1990, Mr. Pagnotta relocated to East Hampton, where he established his own design venture, Pasquale Pagnotta and Associates.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Pagnotta has enjoyed working in both the residential and commercial spheres. He has maintained involvement with multiple high profile clients, such as Sammy Davis Enterprises Ltd. and MPL Communications/Paul McCartney. Moreover, he has had the distinct pleasure of designing the guesthouse of Lome Michaels, showrooms for Calvin Klein Jeans and London Fog and various corporate buildings, such as Eastman and Eastman. When designing a space, he has earned distinction for an esthetic that has included both antiques as well as contemporary pieces. Drawing widespread acclaim in New York for his expertise, Mr. Pagnotta and his work have been featured in several significant publications, such as Newsday's Guide to Design, Home Entertainment and Interior Design.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mr. Pagnotta was afforded the opportunity by his parents to take a drawing course at the Pratt Institute during his youth. Introduced to the interior design department, he became fascinated by the subject. After high school, he applied and was accepted to the school, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1961. Since concluding his academic efforts, Mr. Pagnotta has been affiliated with several prominent industry organizations, including the American Society of Interior Designers. He is also a member and treasurer of the Institute of Business Designers.
