Though his career has been suffused with highlights, Dr. Qingjun Jack Zheng is especially proud of the work he has conducted in new materials development.

He previously worked as a staff engineer between 2010 and 2014 and a senior engineer from 2007 until 2010. Dr. Zheng began his affiliation with Kennametal in 2006, when he joined the staff as an engineer.
Before securing employment with Kennametal, Dr. Zheng gained valuable expertise as a senior research associate with the University of Kentucky. He likewise distinguished himself through his studies as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Alabama. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, Dr. Zheng is especially proud of the work he has conducted in new materials development.
In pursuit of his career, Dr. Zheng earned a Master of Science in metallurgical engineering from Northeastern University in 1994. He subsequently received a Doctor of Philosophy in metallurgical and materials engineering from The University of Alabama in 2003. Devoted to his community, he contributes as the chairman of TMS International. For his outstanding work, he received the TMS Young Leader Professional Development Award in 2005. Looking forward, Dr. Zheng intends to utilize his expertise in further service to the advancement of the field.
