After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, he subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mr. Finkel has been admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C and the state of South Carolina, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. District Court for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
Throughout the length of his career, Mr. Finkel has long attributed his professional success to a diligence and propensity for hard work. In a professional journey suffused with highlights, he was most proud to participate in a case that went before the Supreme Court, Lucas v. the South Carolina Coastal Council. The case is now featured in constitutional law books and real estate property books.
