Mr. Jones launched his legal career as an associate at Haynes, Baucom, Chandler, Claytor and Benton and later joined Parker, Pollard and Brown PC, between 1985 and 1992 and was subsequently a partner at Baker and Jones PA, in Wilmington prior to establishing his law firm in 1998.
Practicing law for more than 35 years, Mr. Jones is grateful for the opportunity to have served so many individuals that would otherwise not have a voice to help themselves. Now semi-retired and residing in Puerto Rico, he intends to concentrate on working with other law firms on pharmaceutical matters. At one point in his career, Mr. Jones maintained 12 offices, but now employs just a handful of staff members who work remotely.
Leveraging his expertise, Mr. Jones has contributed for many years training young lawyers and serving as a mentor. He has also spoken numerous times at annual conventions and has authored various publications on such topics as face-to-face marketing, ethics, social networking and workers compensation. Mr. Jones remains a member of several industry-related organizations as well.
Mr. Jones initially attended Wingate University where he acquired an Associate of Arts in 1980 and a Bachelor of Arts in communications in 1982. He subsequently transferred to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which he attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1985. Since concluding his academic efforts, Mr. Jones has been admitted to practice law by the North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Texas Bar Associations, the U.S. District Court of the Western, Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina, the U.S. District Court of South Carolina and the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Georgia.
Recognized by several legal publications for his distinguished career, including Martindale-Hubbell and Super Lawyers, Mr. Jones has also recently been named a Top 100 Top Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association for 2018 and among the 10 Best in Client Satisfaction by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys for 2015. Additionally, his firm was listed as North Carolina's Most Influential Law Firm by Corporate Vision Magazine in 2016.
