PRINCETON, NJ, June 08, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ernesto Mazzucato with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Mazzucato celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Mazzucato, after receiving a Doctor of Physics cum laude from Padua University in 1960, entered the field of Controlled Thennonuclear Fusion Research, with the goal of reproducing on earth in a control manner the nuclear fusion reactions that power the sun. After a brief tenure at the Laboratorio Gas Ionizzati of Frascati (Italy), he moved to the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory of Princeton University. There he performed numerous experiments, where a mixture of light atoms -the plasma were brought to temperatures of more than 100 million degree (Celsius) to force their nuclei to fuse into heavier elements, and in the process to transform part of their mass into energy according to the famous Einstein equation E = mc2. These experiments were conducted using numerous diagnostic techniques that he developed and described in Electromagnetic Waves for Thermonuclear Fusion Research, World Scientific (2014). These diagnostic techniques have become standard tools of Controlled Thennonuclear Fusion Research.
Thanks to the findings of these experiments, which were described in more than 250 scholarly articles in some of the most prestigious journals of Plasma Physics, Dr. Mazzucato was recognized as a Distinguished Physicist of Princeton University and was elected as a fellow of the American Physical Society.
Presently. Dr. Mazzucato is working on the design of new reactor schemes than are different -and hopefully better -than those that until now have been considered for fusion nuclear reactors.
