Having accrued more than 25 years of inimitable experience in defending health care providers in medical malpractice actions, Ms. Marano is a distinguished trial attorney practicing in the region of Long Island, New York. Honored as an Outstanding Woman in Law by the Hofstra University School of Law, she serves as partner to the Gabriele Marano firm, which concentrates in health care defense, OPMC matters, appeals, personal injury and labor and employment. Ms. Marano has been associated with the firm and its predecessors since 1987.
Ms. Marano received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Long Island University and went on to obtain a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1987, where she served as an associate editor of the Law Review. She is a co-author of the 1994 edition of New York Medical Malpractice, a three-volume treatise. Ms. Marano attributes much of her career success to her early involvement with the medical malpractice treatise, as well as working with and learning from exemplary mentors and colleagues.
Admitted to practice law before the Courts of the State of New York and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Ms. Marano is also Gabriele Marano's senior trial and appellate counsel. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations and the New York State Bar Association. Ms. Marano is a former chair of the Appellate Practice Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association and a former member of its Judicial Screening Committee.
Ms. Marano has a strong desire to get more involved in her local community. Law is her passion and defending health care providers in medical malpractice cases is her niche. Looking toward the future, Ms. Marano plans to continue honing her craft and to mentor young attorneys seeking to enter the field.
