HASLETT, MI, June 17, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Frederick R. Parcells with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Parcells celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Leading a long and successful career in the field of insurance, Mr. Parcells has earned distinction as the assistant vice president of corporate underwriting products for AmeriTrust Group Inc. since 2015. Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, the organization boasts exemplary service in commercial insurance underwriting, as well as insurance management. For more than 40 years, Mr. Parcells has held leading roles in the field, transitioning from an actuary to an underwriter on behalf of several insurance companies, including Northbrook Property and Casualty Insurance, formerly a subsidiary of Allstate Insurance, Allstate Insurance and Apex Insurance Managers. Between 2008 and 2009, he transitioned into the role of a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley before resuming his insurance career by becoming a program manager for Illinois Casualty Company. Ultimately, Mr. Parcells founded Fred Parcells Consulting in 2012 as its president, and maintained the endeavor for three years before joining AmeriTrust.
Notable for his community advocacy, Mr. Parcells served as the assistant chairperson of the civic affairs committee for the Cambridge Forest Association in Lincolnshire, Illinois between 1980 and 1981. He also contributed as the treasurer for Santa Claus Anonymous in Chicago before advancing to become its president. Additionally, Mr. Parcells has volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity, helping on several occasions to construct a duplex building in Chicago.
After receiving an Associate of Arts at Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas, in 1977, Mr. Parcells proceeded to attain a Bachelor of Arts in finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1980 and a Master of Business Administration at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in 1985. Eminently qualified in his field, he is certified in financial planning, chartering property and casualty underwriting. Furthermore, Mr. Parcells is an associate in risk management and in reinsurance/insurance through the Institutes, a Risk & Insurance Knowledge organization.
Aligned as a member of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Society, Mr. Parcells worked as the secretary of the Chicago chapter, was active on the board of directors, served as the public relations chairperson and, among other roles, was the president of the Chicago chapter. While active as the president and chairperson of the underwriting interest group, he wrote "President's Message / View From The Top" columns for periodicals produced by those groups. Mr. Parcells is also a life member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association and Indiana University Alumni Association.
Mr. Parcells was recognized twice by Allstate Insurance with a Chairman's Quality Award. The insurance company likewise named him as a Business Insurance Marketing Hero. However, Mr. Parcells feels his greatest achievement is passing knowledge on to others and helping them to better themselves. On multiple occasions, he has received unsolicited thanks and gratitude from people that he has helped over the years, sometimes from recent interactions and sometimes from previous decades. "It's a good feeling when someone that I haven't heard from in a long time reaches out to say thanks for helping them to learn something years ago," he remarked. He was inspired by his parents and teachers who always encouraged him to reach for the stars. His wife has always been by his side, in both good and bad times. His mother used to remind him that "the Lord helps those who help themselves." When asked what advice he would offer his 18 year old self if he could revisit his youth, he said, "Invest more time in forming and developing relationships at the same time as you are reaching career milestones; the memories formed from those relationships will outlast whatever accomplishments you achieve."
Looking ahead, he will do some consulting for property/casualty insurers, and perhaps invest in real estate as his wife enjoys rehabbing projects. Also, with a background in financial planning, he could perhaps help others in that regard. He would like to leave the world in a better place than it was before he came along. He would like people to think that he made a positive difference in people's lives and in the world overall.
A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Parcells has been featured in over 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
