Mr. Miyake has notably worked for Kajima Corporation's Japanese, European, and American design divisions on projects including Berlin locations of Mitsukoshi Berlin, London locations of the Hiroshima Bank and Sumitomo Corporation, and Japan Airlines lounges at John F. Kennedy International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Since 2010, he has excelled with the interior design division of ILYA Corporation, a subsidiary of Kajima Group. Mr. Miyake's recent work has included Nihonbashi Muromachi Mitsui Hall, Oakwood Suites Yokohama, and renewal initiatives for the Hotel Nikko Kochi Asahi Royal, Cruise Asuka II and the Shiodome Royal Park Hotel.
In addition to his work with Kajima Group, Mr. Miyake has consulted on projects for Kominato Railways and Tokyo Disney's "ToonTown," among many others. He is the recipient of dozens of awards for his work, including four Good Design Awards, Japan Commercial Design Awards for his work on the Shiodome Royal Park Hotel and the Hotel Niigata, and a UK Commercial Building Award for his Sumitomo Corporation Building. He is proud to have made an international cultural impact through his work and believes strongly that a good design has the potential to be humanizing and transformative. In his leisure time, Mr. Miyake is an opera aficionado and a passionate supporter of classical Japanese performing arts, including Kabuki, Noh and Bunraku theater.
