Mr. Honecker is renowned as an attorney with nearly 40 years of specialty in criminal and municipal court defense. He recalls the genesis of his interest in law was the film "To Kill a Mockingbird." Inspired by the fairness and demeanor of country lawyer Atticus Finch, Mr. Honecker decided that he wanted to pursue a career as an attorney.
Graduating from Franklin & Marshall College with a Bachelor of Arts in government, Mr. Honecker subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Widener University School of Law in 1981. He is additionally certified as a criminal trial attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. From 1981 to 2006, Mr. Honecker found success as an assistant prosecutor, first assistant and acting prosecutor for Monmouth County, New Jersey.
Since 1982, Mr. Honecker further flourished as president of the Monmouth Bar Association, during which time he has also served as a trustee. In 2007, he accepted the position of a partner of the firm Ansell Grimm & Aaron, a comprehensive law office with attorneys in practice in criminal defense, family, personal injury, business, and intellectual property cases. Likewise, Mr. Honecker has provided legal counsel to the Monmouth County Chief of Police Association, and is active as President of the 200 Club, a charitable organization benefiting the families of fallen police, firefighters, and first responders.
In 2006, Mr. Honecker was honored as the New Jersey County Prosecutors Association's Prosecutor of the Year. Notably, he has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer on several occasions. In the coming years, Mr. Honecker plans to begin winding down his career and transition toward a lighter caseload, but believes he will never fully give up his passion for the law.
