Mr. Fortson garnered a laudable reputation as the Senior Manager of Government Programs, company FSO and Insider Threat Senior Official on behalf of the NORDAM Group LLC before his retirement in 2019. While coming of age, he aspired to work for the FBI, and entered the military after graduating high school to pursue his goals in law enforcement. Mr. Fortson served his country for three years as an active duty member of the United States Army (elite First Cavalry Division Horse Detachment) and for another three years as a member of the United States Army Reserves.
From 1989 until 1997, Mr. Fortson was a plant protection and fire protection officer (Local President & International Representative) for McDonnell Douglas, departing to become an industrial security manager for the Boeing Company. In 1999, his dedication and excellence were recognized with a promotion to the position of the senior manager of security and fire services, technical training, export compliances, and mail services for Boeing's facility in Decatur, Alabama. That same year, he graduated from the University of Phoenix with honors, holding a Bachelor of Science in business management. From 2006 until 2017, Mr. Fortson served as the senior manager of production operations security and emergency services for United Launch Alliance LLC, a joint venture of the Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin.
As of 2019, Mr. Fortson began transitioning his career to focus on independent consulting work. Dedicated to constant improvement, he has pursued numerous continuing education opportunities and professional certifications. To wit, Mr. Fortson is certified by the DOD Center for Development of Security Excellence, holds a Facility Security Officer and Insider Threat Program Senior Official credential, and in 2014, he graduated from the FBI Citizens Academy, an exclusive community partnership training program.
In addition to his exemplary work in aerospace, Mr. Fortson has made community service and involvement a lifelong priority. From 1995 until 1999, he found success as the president of the board of directors of his community Homeowners' Association, and in 2001, he was elected to the town council of Trinity, where he retained his seat until 2017. He has also been involved in student outreach programs serving the Huntington Beach area, and has pursued other local government leadership opportunities. Mr. Fortson is a member of the Association of Contingency Planners, the Society of Industrial Security Professionals, the National Fire Protection Association, the Industrial Security Awareness Council, FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association, American Legion, the North Texas Joint Security Awareness Council, and the Industrial Security Awareness Council (ISAC-OK). In 2020, he was selected as a Distinguished Humanitarian by Marquis Who's Who.
