Moreover, she is licensed in Word Perfect word processing and retail merchandising management. She is also a Growthwheel certified business advisor. Today, Ms. Allen is a community educator at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College.
Ms. Allen has been recognized for her professional efforts throughout her career. She was named as a Strong Community Builder by the Cumberland Gap Regional Tourism Association and she received the Culture Development Award from the Bell County Chamber of Commerce. Most notably, she founded Crater of Hope in 2016, through which she is able to offer help and support to individuals in her community who suffer from substance abuse. She attributes her success to people in her community who have motivated her to continue the work in striving to see others grow and overcome challenges. Ms. Allen was mentored by Isaac Kramer, who showed her examples of how other communities implemented successful programs in order to flourish.
In the coming years, Ms. Allen aspires to observe continued growth in the communities she works with. She hopes to develop local tourism and sustainable practices, and attract grants for further assistance.
