Drawing upon more than 18 years of practiced experience in engineering, Mr. Zickefoose currently serves as the president and the founder of Valiant Group LLC in Lancaster, a role he has held since 2017. In his position, he serves as the managing principal and project executive for engineering and construction contracts while managing all aspects of the business division. Developing programs that have led to a cohesive leadership structure, Mr. Zickefoose has implemented new strategies and policies in collaboration with executive partners to promote organizational leadership.
Prior to his roles with Valiant Group, Mr. Zickefoose worked for PPL Electric Utilities in Lancaster in myriad positions, including the manager of construction management from 2017 to 2018, a transmission development manager from 2015 to 2017, a safety manager from 2014 to 2015, the manager of construction management from 2012 to 2014 and a construction manager from 2011 to 2012. Between 2009 and 2010, Mr. Zickefoose also provided his expertise to KCI Technologies in Lancaster as a project manager.
Devoted to his country, Mr. Zickefoose also boasts a longstanding tenure with the United States Army. From 2011 to 2012, he was active as a resident engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers in Kandahar, Afghanistan, and an active duty engineer army officer between 2002 and 2009, where he served with the 3rd Infantry Division and the 249th Engineer Battalion. A graduate of the U.S. Ranger School and U.S. Army Airborne School, he was deployed to Iraq, where he led a platoon of soldiers in combat within Sadr City are of operation. For his excellence in the military, Mr. Zickefoose rose through the ranks to lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and received a Bronze Star for actions in Iraq.
To prepare for his outstanding career, Mr. Zickefoose pursued a formal education at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York, earning a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 2002. He continued his studies at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, obtaining a Master of Science in engineering management in 2015. Most recently, he graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from the Jack Welch Management Institute in 2017. Mr. Zickefoose is also a certified professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
To remain aware of developments in the field, Mr. Zickefoose has maintained his affiliation with the Society of American Military Engineers and the West Point Association of Graduates. He attributes his success to his faith in God, as well as the support from his wife, Kimberly. Looking toward the future, Mr. Zickefoose intends to watch his company expand through the addition of 15 more employees, and he seeks to contribute more to veteran charities.
