HOUSTON, TX, July 02, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present George W. Fletcher with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Fletcher celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Fletcher has garnered a laudable reputation as a system safety engineer for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), an information technology company based in Reston, Virginia. Hired in 2017, he been prolifically involved with NASA's Orion program in support of its spacecraft. Taking his role very seriously, Mr. Fletcher notes the importance of always having an open dialogue with his fellow engineers, astronauts, and those involved with the hardware. These efforts, which are maintained via meetings, presentations and various other forms of communication, have been key to his success. He also stresses the importance of safety, as his actions have a considerable impact on the lives of his colleagues. Safety is, and will continue to be, his top priority.
Mr. Fletcher formerly worked for Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals as a process safety engineer. Having accrued more than four decades of expertise, Mr. Fletcher also worked for The Boeing Company after completing his senior year in college, gaining significant expertise and insight into the field of engineering.
Outside of his commitments at SAIC, Mr. Fletcher is an amateur radio emergency coordinator for Southeast Harris County, Texas. Likewise, he has served for more than a decade supporting the Harris County Office of Emergency Management, as well as several other local municipalities in the southeast section of the county. His responsibilities have encompassed coordinating more than 100 amateur radio operators during emergencies, including the disastrous 2017 Hurricane Harvey. Remarkably, Mr. Fletcher is the longest amateur radio emergency coordinator to have ever served Southeast Harris County.
As a member of the Church of Christ, Mr. Fletcher has volunteered his time teaching, serving as a deacon, chaperone and audio-visual ministry leader. He also prepares meals for Family Promise, a ministry that helps local families get back on their feet.
