ANKENY, IOWA, July 02, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nate Wolfe has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Wolfe is a Project Engineer for Story Construction, a full-service, employee-owned general contracting firm. A natural tinkerer with a gift for seeing the potential in materials, he was raised by a carpenter and an antique store owner, and learned at an early age "how to create something from nothing." After excelling in his high school wood shop class, Mr. Wolfe set his sights on attending Iowa State University's renowned construction engineering program.
While studying at Iowa State University, Mr. Wolfe accepted an engineering internship with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, where he would serve from 2007 until 2009 surveying, designing and helping to manage state park projects. In 2010, he graduated from the aforementioned university with a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering, with additional participation in the school's Engineer in Training program and an Engineer in Training credential from the Iowa Engineering and Land Surveying Board. After graduation, Mr. Wolfe worked for a year as an electrical estimator for the Mass Electric Construction Company (Kiewit Owned), departing in 2012 to become a warehouse manager for Nelson Electric.
In 2013, Mr. Wolfe earned certification from the Mine Safety and Health Administration and undertook a 30 hour safety training course through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. He continued to build his expertise in construction engineering, spending three years as a field engineer working on copper mine sites, including estimating for The Industrial Company based in Colorado (Kiewit Owned). He eventually departed from the company to work as a Site Project Manager for Bratney Companies, where he would finish out 2015. During this time, Mr. Wolfe developed a complement of industry and personnel management skills that encouraged his goal of eventually becoming a full-time Project Manager.
Mr. Wolfe has been a Project Engineer for Story Construction of Iowa since 2016. Primarily responsible for coordinating work and contracts with subcontractors, working with designers and architects to ensure materials fulfillment, and frequent safety walk-throughs and inspections. He is a member of the Safety Committee at Story Construction, which focuses on preemptively identifying potential dangers on a site, and Mr. Wolfe is excited to work on a wide variety of diverse challenges – from elevators, to commercial kitchen builds, MEP systems including underground utility coordination– there is never a dull moment. He attributes his success to his stellar work ethic, passion for building and engineering and the amazing teams that he has been a part of throughout his career. Dedicated to supporting others in the community, Mr. Wolfe is personally involved in charity and volunteering for the United Way Campaign, and he looks forward to continuing to grow within his industry and manage larger scale logistics.
