Colonel Nonie C. Cabana is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Filipino service members in the United States Armed Forces.

    HELOTES, TX, July 06, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nonie C. Cabana has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Cabana is an educator, military historian and strategist dedicated to preserving the legacy of Filipino service members in the United States Armed Forces. Born in the Philippines and adopted by a maternal uncle serving in the United States Navy, he came of age possessed of a deep fascination with the United States, and dreamed of joining the U.S. military as an adult. Mr. Cabana relocated to America in 1970, and in 1974, fulfilled his childhood dream of enlisting in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Cabana continued to rise through the ranks of the U.S. Air Force while pursuing his studies, during which he earned a Master of Science in international relations from Troy State University in 1983, and was selected for the Air Force's career broadening educational program in 1986. He served twice as Squadron Commander of Transportation Unit and once as Logistics Group Commander. He served to the rank of a colonel, graduating from the Naval War College with a Master of Arts in national security and strategic studies in 2000. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Personal Property, Headquarters, Military Traffic Management Command from 2000 to 2001. He then was reassigned as the 37th Logistic Group Commander, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX from 2001 to 2002. Thereafter, he reported to the US Pacific Command, HI from 2002 to 2004 as the Deputy Director for Logistics, Engineering and Security Assistance. His next assignment was the resource integration division chief of the Pacific Air Forces in 2004. Mr. Cabana would hold this post until his retirement from the military in 2008.

In 2009, Mr. Cabana brought his decades of military logistics and personnel management experience to the private sector as the owner of NC Cabana Logistics, a training and consulting firm. Likewise, his training and business administration experience extends to work for Waxman Associates LLC, and the Texas State Auditor's Office. He began working in postsecondary education in 2010 as a professional trainer for North Lake College and the Dallas Community College District, and has been an adjunct faculty member at Alamo College and Webster University since 2011. As a part of his commitment to continuing education, Mr. Cabana enrolled in Wayland Baptist University, where he would complete a Master of Education in secondary education in 2011.

Active member of the Board of Directors in the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce-- committed "to inspire the spirit of entrepreneurship among Filipinos, Filipino-Americans, and their friends, and promote the growth of business and professions, and to be of service to our communities." Mr. Cabana has worked with SCORE, a San Antonio-based small business support program, as a certified mentor and past vice president for four years, and his community involvement extends to support of broader community initiatives, including Feed the Children and the San Antonio Food Bank. Throughout the course of his career, he has been passionate about honoring and preserving the legacy of Filipino American military service members in World War II, and his advocacy work was instrumental in helping to pass Public Law 114-265, which presented eligible veterans and recognized guerillas with United States Congressional Gold Medals for their sacrifices on behalf of America. He is the author of "Cyberattack: Military in a Support Role" and "Total Mobility Flow: A Post Kosovo Role of the DIRMOBFOR (Director of Mobility Forces)." He has spent several months working on a personal autobiography as a gift for his family. A proud father of four and grandfather of five, Mr. Cabana cherishes his 44-year marriage to his wife, Geraldine E. Cabana, and looks forward to traveling to all 50 United States in his retirement.
