Having accrued more than 40 years of inimitable experience in real estate, sales, interior design, and community service, Ms. Storms has garnered a laudable reputation as a person of note. In 1979 she co-founded The Blue Barn, an antiques center/interior design/custom made furnishings business. In 2008 she became an Associate Real Estate Broker for Ruth Gale Realty specializing in listing and selling vacation homes and commercial properties in the Catskills/Hudson Valley region.
Ms. Storms has been a community advocate serving 2 terms as a Town Councilwoman, one term as Deputy Supervisor and creating a Medical Center for her region.
In addition, she has served on various boards including, The Belleayre Music Conservatory, The Phoenicia Playhouse, the Route 28 Scenic By Way and NY Rising Committee. She was the co-founder of The Shandaken Women's Network and The Shandaken Chamber of Commerce guiding each organization as President. When severe flooding threatened the economic vitality of her region, she founded SOS (Save Our Shandaken) and created a group to analyze how to make the area more flood resilient.
Currently, Ms. Storms is in her second term as the Vice Chair of the Industrial Development Agency for Ulster County. Consistently named as "Top Producer" by the Ulster County Board of Realtors, Ms. Storms looks forward to future service on the Board.
Ms. Storms graduated a year early form High School with honors and pursued her creative talents achieving a Degree in Fashion Design and a Degree in Fashion Illustration from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. She then redirected her talents and gained a degree in Interior Design.
In addition to her entrepreneurial acumen, Ms. Storms is an accomplished showing artist and actress.
Above all of her achievements, she is most proud of her son, Maxwell.
