DUNCANVILLE, TX, July 07, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Anthony has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Mr. Anthony discovered his love for computers. His mother, Lacy Speed allowed him to foster his passion, enrolling him in computer classes early in his educational journey. Planting that seed continued to motivate and inspire Mr. Anthony, which resulted in him graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from The Grambling State University in December, 2011. In 2012, Mr. Anthony began his corporate career with American Airlines as a Software Engineer, now currently an Infrastructure Engineer.
In these dual positions, Mr. Anthony has helped develop a software application called "Board Now", to be used in majority of airports that service American Airlines. This application notifies passengers when their flight and group number is boarding via SMS, email or phone call no matter their location, along with other enterprise software enhancements and user interface developments. Currently, as an Infrastructure Engineer, Mr. Anthony utilizes software like VMware to help manage the cloud and virtualization platforms across the American Airlines Enterprise. Some of the more technical roles and responsibilities would consist of, but not limited to, virtual deployment, automation, maintenance and troubleshooting. All of these things aid in the efficiency and productivity in technology at American Airlines.
In working with American Airlines, Mr. Anthony also serves as an active member of their Black Professional Network Employee Business Resource Group, which works to provide quality and equality within a diverse culture at American Airlines. During his time with the aforementioned group, he excelled as the Social Action chair, the President of the DFW Chapter and a member of the Diversity Advisory Council. An acclaimed engineer and business executive, Mr. Anthony retains his professional alignment with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Apart from his work in software and Infrastructure engineering, Mr. Anthony has had the opportunity to foster his love for music. With the help of his mother, who had since sadly passed away, motivation of his auntie Sandra Anthony Bray and the drive from his brother Lawrence Anthony, he established his own record label in 2015, alongside his cousin Larry Bray Jr. called "Acorp Music Group L.L.C." Since founding the record label, he has signed a contract with Lawrence Adisa Films to produce the soundtrack for the 2017 horror film "BNB HELL," which was directed by Andrew Jordan. The single, "Crash Pad," was featured and honored at the 2017 Indie Night Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA at the TLC Chinese Movie Theatres; Marking this, the first video at that film festival to be featured with a feature film. Additionally, in 2019 Acorp Music Group recently signed an audio/visual recording global distribution contract with GT Digital Distribution, the sister company of Empire Distribution. Not stopping there, Mr. Anthony has also launched his own clothing line, "Acorp Clothing" and is working on his next entrepreneur endeavor, a casual shoe line.
Devoted to not just his community, Mr. Anthony contributes to those in need domestically and internationally. As a member of the board of directors for the Illogic Family Nonprofit Organization based out of Mission Viejo, California. With the aforementioned organization, Mr. Anthony helps provide soccer equipment to impoverished communities with soccer clubs that are in need of assistance both domestically and internationally. Recently in 2019, the Illogic Family Nonprofit Organization provided soccer balls, cleats and uniforms to a Sierra Leone, Africa Soccer Club with more than 15 participating teams. Before the most recent Covid-19 Pandemic, he and the Illogic Family had just partnered with American Airlines to assist in the next philanthropic efforts to provide soccer equipment to those impoverished communities.
An acclaimed entrepreneur, his motivation stems back to his Great-Great Grandfather Dan Anthony, who moved from Mississippi to Arkansas in the late 1800's and purchased hundreds of acres of land to create what is now called Anthonyville, AR. Mr. Anthony also, is a licensed funeral director for his family business "Anthony Funeral Home", which has been established since 1946. The family business managed by his father Tandy Anthony, is still owned and operated by his Grandfather and Grandmother Solon and Eleanor Anthony in West Memphis, Ar.
Growing up in the Haitian rooted family, Kevin Anthony was heavily inspired to attend a Historical Black College University, to follow in the footsteps of his uncle an older cousins who had also graduated from HBCU's. While procuring his education, Mr. Anthony became a 2nd Generation Legacy member into the African American Greek Letter and Community Service organization of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. through the Gamma Gamma Chapter at Grambling State University.
This elite membership, helped mold and fuel Mr. Anthony's future in leadership and community service following the footsteps of his father Tandy and uncle Frederick Anthony, who are the 1st Generation Legacy members. While continuing to propel through his collegiate studies, still maintaining his educational path, Mr. Anthony served in various high ranking positions at the local, regional an international levels of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Becoming an instrumental voice an influencer in the undergraduate and graduate community, Mr. Anthony was able to help establish undergraduate graduate scholarships for all undergraduate members of this illustrious organization at their respective institutions, across the states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
In light of his outstanding body of work, Mr. Anthony has been recognized in Who's Who in America. Additionally, he was honored with the Leadership to Inclusion in Diversity Award and the Team Member Engagement Award by American Airlines at the 2019 African American Diversity Network National Conference held in Miami, FL. In the near future, Mr. Anthony aims to experience continued growth and success with American Airlines as well as continuing to expand his Anthony brand while using those as tools to communicate, educate and foster the youth of tomorrow.
