Ms. Simpson is renowned as a security expert and law enforcement officer with more than 30 years of service. Initially obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from California University of Pennsylvania, she additionally completed police science coursework at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and law enforcement coursework at Western Wyoming College. Subsequently, Ms. Simpson graduated from the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy following 1500 hours of specialized training.
From 1972 to 1977, Ms. Simpson began her career as a PA Act 120 Officer for the Greengate Police. She further flourished as the assistant chief of police for the Ellsworth Police Department from 1977 to 1978 and as an officer for the Fallowfield Township Police Department from 1978 to 1990. From 1980 to 1996, Ms. Simpson found success as a detective with the city of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Active with Microsoft as corporate security and a control room supervisor between 1997 and 2000, Ms. Simpson worked as a software test engineer for Vivendi Universal. She later served with Northwest Protective from 2004 to 2005 as well as with the Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawai'ian Islands as a Security Manager in the years that followed. A member of the leadership committee of Kent Emergency Management since 2015, she notably co-founded the Transgender Community of Police and Sheriffs in 2000. A former member of the board of the Ingersoll Gender Center, Ms. Simpson is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police of Green River Lodge #27, for which she also thrives as webmaster.
