An acclaimed songwriter and producer, Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. serves as the owner of MTF Records, KBN Productions and His Light Publishing, all of which he has successfully operated since the late 1970s. Impoverished while growing up in Compton, California, he has always felt an affinity for music, and began his playing piano on behalf of his church at the age of 10. Despite the numerous travails he has endured, his drive and love for the art has never waned. Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. strives constantly, in his own words, to instill peace in troubled minds, restore hope, heal physical ailments, and bring mankind closer to God.
During the course of his career, Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. also gained valuable musical expertise in 1983, recording his first vinyl LP entitled "Born Again" with Great Vision Records. The vinyl LP has since become a sought-after collector's item the world over. In 1979, he converted his garage into his first recording studio and began producing his own music, as well as other artists' music. During this time, he connected with Hollywood film producers Tim Story and Leon Isaac Kennedy in the making of a historic documentary on the life of William J. Seymour. Mr. Burroughs Neeley Sr. scored the music and this historic video has been archived at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later co-produced and scored the music for the children's video called "Power of Joy" that went on to win the 16th Annual International Angel Award through TBN for excellence in media.
Through KBN Productions, he expanded his audio company and audio engineering talents. His company provided audio for concerts headlining national Gospel artists, music festivals such as the Watts World Arts Festival, The Taste of Orange, BET's venue headlining national secular artists. He also provided audio support for the Fellowship West annual conferences and quarterly luncheons held at the Beverly Hills Hotel with special guests such as Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Tommy Davidson, Andrae Crouch, George Duke and more. Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. also served as worship leader and audio support for the weekly Christian Entertainers Fellowship. The fellowships were held in the homes of Florence LaRue, Paul Jackson Jr, Philip Bailey and Smokey Robinson. The late Frank E. Wilson and Ollie E. Brown were president and vice president, respectively.
Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. became the worship leader for Crenshaw Christian Center and he also traveled as worship leader for the Ever Increasing Faith Ministries, which hosted crusades for Dr. Frederick K.C. Price nationwide in venues such as the New Jersey Meadowlands and Madison Square Garden in 1993.
In 1995 Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. was recruited to assist with a church planting in St. Louis, MO. While there, his job was to recruit, develop and train the music and audio departments. During Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr.'s 16 year pastoring tenure, the audio department grew to 12 front of house volunteers, (4 of whom were women), 2 full bands, 7 praise teams and a 98 voice choir.
He has honed his knowledge within the field by studying music and vocal performance at Lindenwood University in 2000.
A dedicated community advocate, Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. contributes at his local church, FaithChurch.com, where the senior Pastors are David and Nicole Crank and where he serves as Care Pastor. His pastoral roles include teaching bible studies, officiating weddings, memorial services, hospital visitations and all around loving people.
He is also responsible for recruiting, training and staffing volunteers for the livestream audio department which broadcasts live audio mixed services worldwide. He produces the radio spots and the weekly podcast, along with remixing and mastering the audio for YouTube and TV broadcast.
He also volunteers at church. In 2013, he founded the FaithChurch Choir and the roster has grown to 65 members, serving four campuses in St. Louis, MO. His goal is to increase the choir membership to 300 members, serving all campuses in St. Louis and in West Palm Beach, Florida. When he is not busy at church, he is using his talents in his studio, producing new and upcoming artists and helping each one to see their musical dreams become a reality.
Due to his many professional achievements, Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. has been honored numerous times, earning the International Angel Award through Trinity Broadcast Network in 1993, a Pinnacle Award from Helpers for the Homeless and Hungry in 1993 and for 9 years of producing ministry outreaches to the homeless of Los Angeles' skid-row, and in local parks. He received the Jonathan Award from Fellowship West in 1995 for his unselfish love and commitment and the Fruit of the Spirit Award through Saint Louis Christian Center in 2008. Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. produced 4 solo CDs, earning himself 2 Stellar Award Nominations and in 2009, he became the first producer, musician and artist in Missouri's history to win a Stellar Award for "Praise and Worship CD of the Year".
He was bestowed with the Ministry Worker Certificate of Recognition in 2010 from St. Louis Christian Center and the You Make a Difference Award through Christ Love Ministries International in 2013.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Burroughs-Neeley Sr. aims to create a larger facility, converting a warehouse into an all-inclusive studio and sound stage that is self-sustaining.
