Having accrued well over 30 years of inimitable experience within her field, Ms. Reed has garnered a laudable reputation as a piano teacher and composer teaching students in Puyallup, Washington, since 2009. A former church organist, she previously served as a schoolteacher on behalf of the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District in Washington. Additionally, Ms. Reed worked for over a decade as a real estate professional in Ocean Shores, during which she worked alongside her husband.
Teaching piano to children, Ms. Reed draws great satisfaction from parleying her knowledge of the art to her students. When she is not teaching, she loves composing her own music, and appreciates the expressive and therapeutic catharsis it enables her. Ms. Reed has released four CDs, including "Carol Reed and Friends." Moreover, she has proudly held three concerts where she successfully raised money for her local food bank, the Summer Community Food Bank, and other worthy causes.
Ms. Reed is an alumnus of Washington State University where she received a Bachelor of Art in education with a minor in music in 1958. Affiliated with several prominent industry organizations, she is a member of the Puyallup Valley chapter of the Washington State Music Teachers Association, as well as the Mount Rainer music chapter of the Music Teachers National Association. She is also extremely active as a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood and is a local parishioner of the United Methodist.
Living by the example of her father, who stressed the importance of keeping her mind and body active, Ms. Reed has no plans to retire, and hopes to continue providing piano lessons to her students for many years to come. She was recognized for her teaching career by being named as a Teacher of the Year in 1970 and to the Outstanding Teachers of America in 1975. In regards to her music, she was named as the American Woman Composer of the Year by the National Federation of Music Clubs, a nonprofit philanthropic music organization. Additionally, while working in real estate, Ms. Reed received a Real Estate Top Producer Award for her sales success.
