Dr. Wilson is renowned as a retired skin surgery specialist with more than 50 years of service to his patients and profession. Raised by a family with a strong tradition of medical training, he initially pursued an education at the University of Sydney, graduating with honors in 1966 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. Licensed by the New South Wales Medical Board that same year, Dr. Wilson began his career as a resident medical officer at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney from 1966 to 1967.
Dr. Wilson later worked as a surgical registrar at South Shields General Hospital from 1968 to 1969 and a senior surgical registrar for the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast from 1969 to 1970. Returning to Australia in 1971, he excelled with the Blakehurst Medical Practice as a general practitioner, with which he would remain until 2004. In addition to his regular clinical practice, Dr. Wilson was active as a clinical surgery tutor at the University of New South Wales from 1976 to 1986 and a visiting surgeon to the Hurstville Community Hospital from 1971 to 2004, for which he served on the surgical committee between 1980 to 1994.
From 2004 to 2005, Dr. Wilson flourished as a specialist skin surgeon for the Australian Skin Cancer Group of Sydney. In 2005, he became licensed by the Queensland Medical Board, and joined Solarderm of Brisbane, with which he continued his specialist dermatological practice until 2019. Throughout his career, he has contributed to a number of scientific papers featured in professional publications such as the Medical Journal of Australia. A fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Dr. Wilson is also a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Medical Association.
Dr. Wilson's faith has been a lifelong constant, and in his retirement, he hopes to become more involved in ministry and his spiritual community. He had formerly maintained his involvement as an elder of the Bethany Christian Assembly and the Bexley Christian Assembly for nearly 30 years. Furthermore, Dr. Wilson is distinguished as the author of an inspirational biography, "Jenner of George Street: Sydney's Soul-Winning Sailor," which was released in 2000, as well as a contributing author for Spotlight on Israel.
