MAYFIELD, KY, July 14, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pat Anderson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. As a child, Mr. Anderson loved tinkering with and building things, often crafting little cars out of scraps, 2x4's and plywood, before staining and painting them himself. Due to his love of construction, he established an in-house construction company on Long Island in New York. Over the years, Mr. Anderson also gained valuable expertise with Dually Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, from which he retired in 2011. He is a master carpenter and master mechanic.
While Mr. Anderson is very proud to have served with Co 1/506th Battalion, 101st Airborne Division 79-81, the company which was to guard former President Ronald Reagan during his inauguration, he later had dinner with the new president, Mr. Carter, and Mr. Bush Sr. Mr. Anderson served in the basic training unit, Dco 2/21 Training Brigade-Ft. Benning, Ga; First Unit, Cco 1/506th Infantry Battalion- 79-81(Band of Brothers, Currahee's) 101st Airborne Division, Second Unit; Bco 1/9th Infantry Battalion (Manchu's), 2nd Infantry Division- 81-82, Third Unit; Hhc 2/47th Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Division, 82-84. Fourth Unit; Cco 1/38th Infantry Battalion (Night Fighters) 2nd Infantry Division, 84-85. Fifth Unit; Hhc 2/21st Mechanized Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, 85-86. After his basic and advanced individual training, he went to airborne school and ranger school at Ft. Benning, Ga.
In pursuit of his aspirations, he completed coursework in mechanics, mathematics and infantry skills through the U.S. Army. Throughout his career, Mr. Anderson is a life member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), life member of 1/506th Currahee Association, life member of the 2nd Infantry Division Association (second to none), former branch president of Mid-America branch, 2nd Infantry Division Association, life member of Korean Defense Veterans Association, and life member of the Manchu Association.
For his excellence in the military, Mr. Anderson was honored with the Amy Service Medal, 2 Good Conduct Medals, Korean Defense Medal, 2 Army Achievement Medals, 2 Army Commendation Medals, Airborne Wings/Air Assault Wings, Humanitarian Service Medal for operation transfer & Sheba 23 (Nov. '84), Combat Infantry Badge for fire fight (23 Nov. '84) and other small interactions along the Korean DMZ during his first tour.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Anderson aims to be happily retired and contributing to fellow veterans. He is also an advocate for DMZ veterans through online line data for troops who are unaware of the hazards of combat herbicides (Agent Orange). He leads a parade each August in Pigeon Forge, TN.
