Carol King Butler Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    LAKE WYLIE, SC, July 15, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Carol King Butler with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Butler celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Leveraging her years of expertise in the communications industry as a videographer, a video script writer, sales trainer and a producer, Ms. Butler found much success as the owner of the Carol King Butler Academy; an online school originating in Lake Wylie, SC. A talented course creator, she co-created a step-by-step course for professional and beginner analog photographers who wanted to retouch/spot their own work the traditional way. The course is entitled "Become a Fearless Traditional Retoucher & Spotter," taught by Katherine Gillis, an expert in this field for more than 30 years and the only master traditional retoucher and spotter in the world. Her experience and achievements resulting in the creation of the Carol King Butler Academy have notably enabled her to begin creation on new courses on the Thinkific platform where she customizes her classes and serves her students more effectively. Additionally, Ms. Butler hosts a LIVE Facebook broadcast called THE CAROL BUTLER SHOW which occasionally appears on YouTube. The show typically runs from 30 minutes to 60 minutes and includes a variety of videos, guests, interviews, mini-courses, tutorials and is a source of entertainment for her viewers.

Throughout her career, Ms. Butler has hosted several webinars, numerous LIVE meetings and shows. She created, narrated and produced a weekly podcast for her local radio station called, "Cat-alina Tips and Tidbits" to educate her audience about community cats and fascinating famous people who loved them. She has written and had produced 24 short comedic plays and two short films, co-produced a live cable television show called, "Ask the Attorney," which was broadcast in Raleigh, NC. She has written and published three books. Two of them help individuals learn how to better themselves, their work and give them insights about what she calls "living inside-out." The third book is a fictional account of three older women becoming reluctant supernatural heroes. Ms. Butler has also been involved with the Charlotte Arts Journalism Alliance for which she interviewed artists for publications and wrote critiques of various performances. She was appointed as a Radio Advertising Bureau Conference station representative and became a Pioneer Playhouse photographer one summer responsible for producing headshots and model portfolio photos. She was given that opportunity after having written a pilot script for Sylvia Fleener's invented characters. Among other roles, Ms. Butler additionally acted as a consultant and video script writer and producer for Cotton, Incorporated where one video went international.

A native of Charlotte, NC, Ms. Butler began her career in Raleigh in 1978 as a sales representative for Station WKIX-AM, then followed as an account executive for North Carolina Box, Inc. She was then employed by Station WRAL-FM, owned by Capitol Broadcasting as an account executive and then became Team Sales Manager and trainer. She opened her own videography company and then became Sales Manager for the BW Territory Lifetouch photography company. Ms. Butler has continued to pursue freelance work, offer presentations and scripts for videos for clients since 1991.

In-between freelancing several years as a writer, lyricist, digital photo artist and retoucher, photographer, and podcaster she moved to Charlotte to care for her mother after her father died. Ms. Butler initially completed coursework in journalism at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro for two years. In 1998 she enrolled in the University of NC in Charlotte initially as a Communications Major, then graduated Summa Cum Laude as a Theatre Major and Women's Study Minor. Aligned with several professional organizations, she was an officer for the National Association of Women Professionals Chapter in Raleigh, NC, a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (now called KelbyOne), a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and affiliated with the Alpha Psi Omega Chapter member at UNC-Charlotte, a dramatic fraternity in recognition of her meritorious participation in college dramatics. Her play was chosen as the university read play. Ms. Butler was the commencement speaker for her graduating class.

Marrying her professional expertise with her love for animals, Ms. Butler has worked extensively in a volunteer capacity 7 days a week for over 20 years managing a self-funded sanctuary for nearly 140 rescued community cats (ferals) and rescued a few dogs. As a result she co-created an annual animal educational event for seven years and worked with nonprofit agencies to adopt out regular cats, learn about community cats, and donate one day a year food to feral cat caretakers like herself. Ms. Butler created a promotional video for the River Hills EMS as another part of her volunteering efforts to help them garner donations. She also attended the 2nd Annual Student Wilderness Medicine Conference in Chapel Hill, NC.

Ms. Butler spent a year taking continuing educational programs at New Horizon Computer. She attended the ASC Artist as Entrepreneur Institution and yearly participated in David Cross Photoshop training in Charlotte, NC. She enrolled in a vocal course at York Technical College in Rock Hill, SC as well as a writing class at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh. She wrote the school study guide for the former Charlotte Rep's "Mrs. Warren's Profession." She also was the dramaturg for Chickspeare's Othello and filmed another performance for them.

On a significant note, Ms. Butler was included in The Charlotte Observer's "Cry for the Catawba" series in recognition of her various environmental efforts that has spanned two decades and continues. While working in sales and marketing Ms. Butler was top salesperson and was the recipient of the Raleigh Sales and Marketing Distinguished Sales Award. She has accepted several other distinguished sales and artistic awards. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Butler has been showcased in close to 25 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Media and Communication and Who's Who of American Women.
