In this position, she manages daily operations and resources, supervises attorneys, drafts patent applications and all manner of prosecution responses and filings, both domestically and internationally, and leads and pursues various diversity initiatives within the firm and the legal community at-large. Previously, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a patent attorney with Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP. Between 2011 and 2016, Ms. Foley maintained the aforementioned firm's patent prosecution docket and represented such clients as Microsoft, Lenovo and General Motors.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Foley worked as an associate for Vernon Goodrich and as a patent attorney with Yee & Associates P.C. In the pursuit of her career in intellectual property law, she began her career as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a judicial extern for the Honorable John Peyton of County Court No. 2 in Dallas, Texas, and a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust division and Fletcher & Springer LLP. Ms. Foley retains her professional alignment with the Dallas Bar Association's women in law committee, the Dallas Association of Women Lawyers and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
In 2002, Ms. Foley earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Dallas Baptist University. Subsequently, she obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law in 2007. Upon her graduation from Southern Methodist University, she was admitted to practice law through the State Bar of Texas and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Devoted to her community, Ms. Foley also contributes to those in need as a volunteer on the board of directors for Vickery Trading Company and her local RISD Elementary School PTA Board.
Ms. Foley has co-authored a number of publications, including "Considerations for hospitality industry expansion in the Middle East and North Africa" and "Casenote, A Copyright Revolution: Protecting the Famous Photograph of Che Guevara," as well as speeches such as "The Role of a Patent Attorney in the Patent Application Process" and "Intellectual Property Practice Tips and Documents."
