After initially considering a career in law enforcement, Ms. Brown was drawn to the legal profession after a conversation with her constitutional law professor, who was then a judge in Ms. Brown's hometown. Currently, Ms. Brown is a partner with the law firm of Krehbiel & Barnett, P.C., in which she specializes in medical malpractice defense, personal injury defense, and healthcare liability defense. Previously, Ms. Brown was a partner or shareholder in the law firms of Brown & Gay, P.C., Remo E. Gay & Associates, P.C., Carpenter Hazelwood Delgado & Bolen, PLC, and Madison Mroz Steinman & Dekleva, PA.
Over the course of her career as an attorney, Ms. Brown has been honored numerous times, including with the Super Lawyer Rising Star of the Southwest honor for her work in medical malpractice defense for the years 2014 through 2020, which is a peer-nominated and reviewed designation, the Client Satisfaction Award with the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys (2016), and the Top 10 Personal Injury Attorney Award through the American Jurist Institute (2017). Ms. Brown obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, summa cum laude, from the University of New Mexico in 2003 and Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School in 2006.
Subsequent to being sworn in as a member of the Texas and New Mexico state Bar Associations, Ms. Brown was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Brown has also been affiliated with the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association, the Rotary Club of Albuquerque and Rotary International.
