During this time, Dr. Sharifi taught in the restorative dentistry department with the University of Pennsylvania between 2004 and 2007.
Previously working as an instructor at the University of Muenster Dental School in Muenster, Germany, from 1998 and 2001, Dr. Sharifi worked as a consultant for dentofacial anomalies and clefts with the department of maxillo-facial surgery. She began her career as an orthodontics fellow with the Clinic for Orthodontics in Osnabrueck, Germany, between 1996 and 1998. Outside of her primary responsibilities, Dr. Sharifi enjoys the arts, traveling, and skiing in her spare time.
Supported by an outstanding educational background, Dr. Sharifi initially pursued a formal education at Wesfalian University in Muenster, Germany, where she earned a Doctor of Dental Science in 1995. Soon thereafter, she obtained a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Muenster in 1997 and a Master of Science in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from Westfalian University in 2001. Dr. Sharifi concluded her studies with a Doctor of Medicine in dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.
Civically, Dr. Sharifi co-founded the Greater Philadelphia Dynamic Dental Divas, an organization dedicated to professional women in dentistry. An expert and respected voice in the industry, she has served as a translator for dentistry articles in international journals. To remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Sharifi has maintained her professional affiliation with the American Dental Association, the International Association for Health Care Professionals, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Montgomery-Bucks Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the German Dental Association.
