Aziz A. Jamaluddin holds 20 patents for developments in thermal oxidizers, heat recovery and industrial oven and furnace technologies

Mr. Jamaluddin is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Epcon Industrial Systems, and a licensed registered Professional Engineer, in three (3) states, engineering and manufacturing air pollution control systems, specializing in thermal oxidizers; and, industrial ovens and furnaces, heat recovery solutions, as well as specialty patented systems for metals industry, such as patented thermal deoilers (combination of burn off oven and thermal oxidizer) and washlines for coil coating and 55 gallon drum manufacturers and automotive; in addition, for a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, metals, petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals, oil and gas, web-processing, such as coil coating, flexible packaging, printing, asphalt roofing supply manufacturing, adhesives, pulp and paper, electronics and many more.
Long focused on the industrial applications of mechanical engineering innovations, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. He continued his education at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering focusing on vibration control, heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Mr. Jamaluddin was a doctoral candidate at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, presenting his thesis on the optimal design of shock absorbers and graduated from Harvard Business School with a President's MBA.
Prior to establishing Epcon Industrial Systems, Mr. Jamaluddin was a senior mechanical engineer for General Electric Corporation, and Materials Science Corporation, where he was responsible for numerous multimillion-dollar coil coating projects, including contract work for global clients, the reestablishment of a plant in Mexico, and refurbishment or upgrades to the company's existing coil-coating products worldwide.
In 1977, he founded Epcon Industrial Systems as a one-man enterprise, helping it grow gradually to a team of nearly 100 employees with a dedicated 250,000 square-foot in-house modern manufacturing facility, with sophisticated fabrication machinery. The design engineering and manufacturing business has been successfully flourishing for over four decades. Epcon Industrial Systems has designed and built multiple systems around the world, including across Europe, Central Asia, South America and the Middle East, and Mr. Jamaluddin has personally traveled to meet and make presentations for business development and negotiating contracts to the corporate leaders around the world. He has travelled to more than 120 countries.
In addition to acting as the President and CEO, Mr. Jamaluddin remains active as the company's chief engineer and systems designer, and has custom-designed over 4,000 projects, to-date, to address the air pollution control, heat recovery and air quality problems and challenges of industrial processing and manufacturing and provided workable and comprehensive solutions. He always says he is a solution provider and provides "uncommon solutions to uncommon problems."
He holds 20 patents for developments in thermal oxidizers, heat recovery and industrial oven and furnace technologies, and has been named as the Entrepreneur of the Year in 1992, 2994, 2002 and 2005 for his innovative approach to meeting the needs of domestic and international industrial business.
As a proven innovator in engineering and business development, Mr. Jamaluddin has been extensively published in professional journals and has presented technical papers at numerous conferences and academic symposia throughout his career.
Mr. Jamaluddin is an active member of such professional organizations as the NCCA (National Coil Coating Association), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), A&WMA (Air and Waste Management Association), API (American Petroleum Institute), Aluminum Association, ICAC (Institute of Clean Air Companies), IHEA (Industrial Heating Equipment Association), Vistage and various other trade organizations. He has proudly served on the board of directors of both for-profit and non-profit organizations such as the Southwest Bank of Texas and several Texas charitable and interfaith organizations. Among others, he is the chairperson of the Hyderabad Association of India, the Interfaith Ministry of Houston and Interfaith of The Woodlands, and the Islamic Society of the Woodlands. Within the next five years, Mr. Jamaluddin looks forward to continuing to build on the pioneering engineering work he has done with Epcon Industrial Systems, maintaining the company's integrity as a leader in its field.
