In this position, he has practiced family and criminal defense both inside and outside of courtrooms in Florida, North Carolina, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Texas. He built an exemplary reputation through his effective representation of clients in federal cases involving stock fraud, money laundering, wire fraud and mail fraud, as well as felony and misdemeanor crimes throughout Florida. The firm was also involved in the 1996 Federal drug case, which at the time, was the largest seizure of "hash" in DEA history. Mr. Ozelie has also focused his legal efforts to help resolve matters of domestic violence, marriage dissolution, child support and custody, paternity and other family law topics in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.
Mr. Ozelie received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in 1974. He then attended Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad Law Center and served as law clerk during his second and third years of study. He earned his Juris Doctorate Degree and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978.
He has volunteered in various endeavors in conjunction with his church and his son's private school. Mr. Ozelie has maintained involvement with several organizations in relation to his area of expertise, including the Federal Bar for the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and he is licensed to practice law in any and all federal jurisdictions, including all USA Territories. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, and the 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Ozelie was listed among the Top Ten Lawyers in South Florida by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2018.
