HOBE SOUND, FL, August 06, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James W. Stangeland has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Stangeland has enjoyed a diverse career, having accrued more than 40 years as a securities trader, a lifetime of domestic/global travel, and research. Naturally drawn to the intricacies of the stock market, he began reading financial journals as a high school student, and continued his independent study of the market while enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1967, Mr. Stangeland attained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the aforementioned university, and proceeded to work for a small Wall Street firm trading NASDAQ stocks.
Within six months, Mr. Stangeland was routinely seeing return on investment figures of 1000% or more, marking him as an inimitable new talent and earning him a reputation as one of the best traders in the business. In 1968, he declined an offer to attend Harvard University's Graduate School of Business Administration, and accepted a partnership in his firm. In 1970, he departed the firm to embark on what would become a 30-month, 40-state, and 47-country world tour. After returning to Wall Street in 1973, he was able to resume where he had left off, earning consistently stellar returns on perceptive trades across market sectors. Mr. Stangeland would continue his trading career as a Member of the American Stock Exchange, Allied Member of The New York Stock Exchange, and a Supervisory Member of the National Association of Security Dealers. Mr. Stangeland's talents did not go unnoticed. He received offers from top Wall Street firms in the areas of Block Trading, and Merger Arbitrage, which he declined. In 1975, Mr. Stangeland went out on his own and for 35 more years, is proud to have maintained consistent high results in his career; a rare accomplishment in a sea of market changes.
In 2014, Mr. Stangeland published his first book, "Hugh L, Ray, THE NFL'S MR. EINSTEIN; Master Designer of The Modern Game." He studied for more than four years collecting primary sources for the book, a history of American football and biography of his grandfather, an early football reformer and architect of the modem NFL game. Mr. Ray was posthumously inducted into The Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 1966, "for his outstanding contributions to the rules of the National Football League." See www.HughRayFootball.com
Committed to helping others access the same resources made available to him, Mr. Stangeland has founded and funded a number of educational endowments throughout his career, including the Thomas Spencer Reilly Memorial Fellowship at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania-MBA Program, and the Walter Chauncey Camp papers Collection, microfilm project at Yale University Library. More recently, Mr. Stangeland helped in the administrative set-up of The Bilgrav School in West Palm Beach, FL. Looking toward the future, Mr. Stangeland plans to continue his writing, research and time spent with his wife Elizabeth, and their children, Katharine, Hugh and Lilly, in the years to come.
