WAGONER, OK, August 13, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert T. Raley, an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma since 1996, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who in America. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Raley has earned several distinctions during his years of professional experience. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Oklahoma in 1985 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University Of Oklahoma College of Law in 1988. In 1988, Mr. Raley was admitted to the State of Oklahoma Bar, and has since represented the State and Federal judicial system with diligence and a keen knowledge of the law.
Mr. Raley served as the Assistant District Attorney for Oklahoma, District 27, between 1991 and 1996, and as a State of Oklahoma Assistant Attorney General from 1988 to 1991. He commenced his career as a Federal prosecutor with the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force, and later became the National Security Prosecutor and the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Counsel, where he currently serves. In that position, Mr. Raley is the direct counsel and prosecutor for the FBI Joint Counter-Terrorism Task Force. Since 2009, Mr. Raley has represented all Federal Law Enforcement Agencies in Oklahoma as a member of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Executive Board in Dallas, TX.
Mr. Raley, has received numerous professional awards, including: Assoc. of Oklahoma Narcotic Enforcers Region II Prosecutor of the Year 1995-1996 and State of Oklahoma Prosecutor of the Year 1995-1996; Assoc. of Oklahoma Narcotic Enforcers Prosecutor of the Year Region II 2013-2014; FBI South Central U.S. Gang Invest. of the year 2014, "Operation Safe Streets"; United States Attorney's Award of Excellence Co-Attorney of the Year 2015; and numerous other recognitions for achievements from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. Earlier in his career, Mr. Raley was named to Who's Who of Practicing Attorneys in 1989 and recognized as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1985.
In addition to his legal service, Mr. Raley enlisted with the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1981 and was serving as an E-4 Corporal when he was honorably discharged in 1987. In the Marine Corps, Mr. Raley was awarded the Expert Rifle Medal and Marine Corps Service Medal. He received a pilot's license in 1985. Early in life, Mr. Raley was in the Boy Scouts of America, holding the rank of Eagle Scout and honored with the Order of the Arrow.
While coming of age, Mr. Raley always looked to his father and older brother as role models. Mr. Raley's father, John W. Raley Jr., was a distinguished attorney and prosecutor. During his legal career, he was appointed United States Attorney, Eastern District of Oklahoma, by President George Bush Sr., and was later reappointed by President Bill Clinton. His older brother, John W. Raley 1lI, is a highly successful trial attorney in Houston, TX. Mr. Raley attributes his success to honesty, hard work and following the path that his father and brother paved. He feels much gratitude for his wife, Dara Ann Raley, whose immeasurable support over more than 27 years of marriage has inspired and sustained him.
To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Mr. Raley has maintained his professional affiliations with numerous organizations of note. He has been a member of Inns of Court, Johnson Sontag Chapter, the Criminal Law Committee of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Beta Theta Pi, University of Oklahoma, Leadership Member of the Boy Scouts of America, and is also involved with the Drug Reduction Outreach Project.
