She began her career as the manager of market research and information at Pioneer Electronics, after which she became a marketing research manager for Mitsubishi Electronics. Dr. Kantak now serves as the president of her own agency, Applied Research West Inc., which she has owned and sustained for more than 25 years. In the course of fulfilling her daily responsibilities, she oversees all aspects of market research, including research design, data collection, analytics and strategy.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Dr. Kantak received a Bachelor of Science in market research from Bangalore University in India in 1979. She subsequently attended Claremont Graduate University, where she attained a Master of Arts in psychology in 1982 and a Doctor of Philosophy in social psychology in 1994. As a determined professional, Dr. Kantak has striven to remain committed to her work, ensuring that she is working to the highest standards in order to complete all projects. Throughout her career, she has been most proud of her ability to manage a competitive business for more than two decades. Dr. Kantak has attributed her professional success to her discipline and persistence.
For her efforts throughout her career, Dr. Kantak was named as the Supplier of the Year by the National Minority Supplier Development Council. She has also been recognized by organizations and companies, such as American Honda Motor Company, Water Quality Association, and Women of Distinction magazine. Most recently, Dr. Kantak used her skills to conduct research on small business outlooks during the Covid-19 pandemic. She maintains her professional and civic affiliation with the Villa Park Women's League, the Assistance League of Orange, the Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council and the University of California Riverside. Looking toward the future, Dr. Kantak plans to continue working in her field in new and innovative ways, utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
