Prior to accepting his position with Ivins, Phillips & Baker, Mr. Schneider gained valuable expertise in law as the assistant to the assistant secretary for tax policy for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In a career filled with highlights, he is especially proud of authoring a three-volume treatise "Federal Income Taxation of Inventories," which was published by Matthew-Bender. Backed by his considerable experience, Mr. Schneider has also penned such works as "Accelerated Deductions for Self-Funded Medical IBNR Reimbursements – Even Faster than You May Have Believed," "Long-Term Contract Regulations: Endless Complexity and Planning Opportunities" and "Premature Accruals and the Relationship Between Accounting Methods and the Penalty Provisions."
A certified public accountant, Mr. Schneider initially earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Maryland in 1967. He subsequently obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Georgetown University Law Center in 1971. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Schneider has maintained his affiliation with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Bar Association.
During his spare time, Mr. Schneider contributes to his community as a member of the Woodmont Country Club and the local Hebrew Congregation. In recognition of his professional expertise, he was recognized as an Outstanding Attorney in D.C. in the Tax Field by Chambers USA in 2000.
