FINDLAY, OH, August 21, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Craig E. Spieker has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Spieker has garnered a laudable reputation as a Commissioned Peace Officer with the State of Ohio, Paramedic and Volunteer Firefighter. Throughout the course of his career, he has gained experience in traffic accident reconstruction, hazardous materials, high angle rope rescue, swift water rescue, wilderness search and rescue and underwater search and rescue/recovery. As a Paramedic, he has worked as an Administrator, Ohio EMS Instructor, NAEMT Instructor, an education and training coordinator, initial EMS training coordinator, SIM lab educator and quality assurance and compliance coordinator. Mr. Spieker has also offered his expertise as a Guest Instructor for the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, a Director, Instructor and Lead Evaluator for the National Association for Search and Rescue and the Coordinator for the Hancock County Sheriffs Office Underwater Search and Recovery Team. He is a member of the Crisis Intervention and Stress Management (CISM) Team, a member of the Hancock County Sexual Assault Response Team, and a FAA licensed Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pilot with the Hancock County UAS Team.
Drawing a wealth of inspiration from his father, a retired Police Officer and Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Spieker had aspired to pursue a career in law enforcement since corning of age. He served as an Airborne Military Policeman and Accident Investigator in the United States Army for five years and is a Desert Shield/Storm Veteran. He subsequently became a Patrol Officer for the Findlay Police Department, where he served for 17 years before retiring. He is currently working as the Assistant Chief and Paramedic for Hanco EMS in Findlay. He is also the co-owner and lead instructor of the Buckeye Emergency Response Training School. He is a volunteer Fire Captain/Paramedic with the Liberty Twp. Fire Department, a Captain for the Ohio Special Response Team, a member of the North-East Ohio Search and Rescue Team and a member of the Tyler County Office of Emergency Management Search and Rescue Team in West Virginia. Mr. Spieker also holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Owens Community College.
For his many contributions to the field, Mr. Spieker has been recognized by several industry organizations throughout his career. To wit, he received the State of Ohio STARS Award from the Ohio Division of the EMS, was named as the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year by the Ohio Guard and Firefighter of the Year for Liberty Township Fire Department. He was also named as an Associate of the Month and the annual Community Service Award winner twice for the Blanchard Valley Health System. Mr. Spieker has also received numerous life-saving, trauma and medical awards.
Adjacent to his primary vocation, Mr. Spieker has served as an expert consultant and material contributor for "Fundamentals of Search and Rescue", a Jones & Bartlett Educational Book. As an accomplished professional, he has attributed his many successes to his family, and the support they have provided throughout the years. Earning the Eagle Scout rank in 1990, he maintains his affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America. He has Life Memberships with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, AMVETS, National Rifle Association and The National Association for Search and Rescue. Looking toward the future, Mr. Spieker would like to continue excelling in his field as a first responder. He would also like to continue teaching and spreading his knowledge to others.
