Ms. Shaw feels strongly that life is more than struggle, and makes it her mission to guide others away from self-sabotage and a false sense of one's true nature. A strong proponent of higher education and equity in access to professional development, she supports the Bard Prison Initiative, and maintains active membership in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Women's Information Network and the Organization of Industrial Psychologists. In the coming years, Ms. Shaw aspires to continuing to develop as a writer, eventually making the transition to writing full-time, and to bringing her consulting talents to corporate America as a contractor.
