Mr. Mutimura is the founder and chairperson of the Elevenheimer Group, a global alternative investments firm with offices in New York and Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor of Science Actuarial and Mathematical Sciences from the State University of New York at Albany, and contributed for a year as an actuary for AIG before realizing that his interests lay more in the broader financial services sector than in the insurance industry. In 2013, Mr. Mutimura earned his FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and became an investment banker for NewBridge Securities Corporation, where he would remain until 2015.
As Mr. Mutimura's experience in financial services and investment banking grew, so did his desire to further broaden his knowledge. To wit, he continued his education at the Fordham University School of Law, where he pursued post graduate studies for a Master of Studies in Law (MSL) in Corporate Compliance after founding Elevenheimer Group LLC in 2015. Working primarily as a hedge fund manager for Elevenheimer Group, Mr. Mutimura continued to pursue professional credentials, earning FINRA Series 65 and SIE licenses as well as pursuing Chartered Portfolio Manager and Accredited Financial Analyst credentials through the Global Academy of Finance & Management in 2017.
In addition to his industry credentials, Mr. Mutimura holds professional certificate in Behavioral Finance from Duke University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School. As a hedge fund manager, he developed a reputation for his thorough and integrated understanding of disparate areas of investment management and financial analysis, with a particular emphasis on the complexities of venture capital and private equity investment. Mr. Mutimura's background in actuarial analysis and personal interest in behavioral finance lent him unique insights into portfolio risk management and impact investing, which translated well into the Elevenheimer Group's strategic focus on unique fund offerings supporting global development and social responsibility initiatives.
Since 2020, Mr. Mutimura has excelled as the chairperson of the Elevenheimer Group, where he continues to advise directly in funds management and global macro strategies in addition to serving as general counsel for the group. As a survivor of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda where he was born and raised, he dedicates a portion of his work with Elevenheimer Group to promoting and supporting financial literacy initiatives in Rwanda; and mentors a series of local young entrepreneurs as a way to give back and to contribute to his country's sustainable growth.
