Braggio, PhD, MPH, with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Dr. Braggio celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Dr. Braggio is a psychologist and epidemiologist celebrating more than 45 years of groundbreaking public health research focused on the effects of environmental hazards on learning disabilities and chronic conditions. A precocious student, he realized his scientific gifts at a young age, and credits the support and encouragement of his teachers in high school and college, and another early mentor at Rockefeller University, New York City, for helping him decide on a career on the scientific side of psychology and medicine. He was admitted into the honors psychology program at Coe College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in August 1969, and began graduate coursework at Georgia State University in September 1969, where he was awarded an exclusive academic scholarship as well as a National Psi Chi Graduate Student Research Award for his theoretical and scientific work. Dr. Braggio completed a Master of Arts in experimental psychology in December 1973, and a Doctor of Philosophy in physiological and comparative psychology in June 1975.

In fall 1974, Dr. Braggio excelled as an instructor in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, rising to become an assistant professor and the chairperson of the social science honors degree program during the following year. He would remain active in both roles, additionally serving in the university's faculty senate until 1982, whereupon he accepted a postdoctoral fellowship and research assistantship in physiology and biophysics at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City. He built a prolific career as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Central Oklahoma in 1983, and joined the Behavioral Sciences Laboratory of the Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 1985 as a research health science specialist, rising to become a principal investigator in 1987. In the same year, Dr. Braggio was invited to join the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, as an adjunct assistant professor, a position he would hold through the end of the 1995 to 1996 academic year.

Dr. Braggio transitioned his focus from behavioral health to epidemiology in the early 1990s, departing from both the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of Central Oklahoma in 1992 to bring his expertise to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, after completing a summer session in epidemiology through the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He would research and practice as a public health epidemiologist for the Oklahoma State Department of Health until December 2003, when he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, in January 2004, to serve as the epidemiologist and coordinator of the newly-established Maryland Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) Program, at the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In 2012, he was named as the department's chief of environmental and occupational epidemiology, a role he held for the next three years. After a year as a research scientist with the California Department of Public Health in Richmond, Dr. Braggio stepped into his current role as the president of the Mount Diablo Analytical Solutions and Reporting Institute, LLC (Diablo Analytical), where he has served since 2017.

Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Braggio has been bestowed more than $10 million in grants and cooperative-agreement monies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health, Veterans Administration Medical Center, National Science Foundation and the Oklahoma Center for Science and Technology. His research has been published in diverse scientific journals, which have included to date 41 publications, and 22 abstracts, and he has presented more than 80 papers at national and international conferences and symposia. Likewise, he chaired three Oklahoma Psychology Conferences, the 2005 Maryland EPHT Conference in Baltimore and the 1980 International Comparative Psychology Symposium in Florence, Italy. Dr. Braggio is the author of a GIS manual, has contributed two book chapters and served on the review boards of such professional publications as the Journal of Health Management & Practice, Psychological Reports, Psychophysiology and the Journal of Clinical Psychology.

Widely recognized as one of the country's foremost experts in his specialty, Dr. Braggio has held leadership positions in numerous community outreach and policy programs, including service on the board of directors of the Asheville Area Association for Children with Specific Learning Disabilities, chairperson of the Oklahoma Mental Health Fair and membership with the social concerns and action committee of the Oklahoma Psychological Association. He has been selected for inclusion in more than a dozen international registries of scientists, public health professionals and industry notables, has been previously honored as a Marquis Who's Who Top Professional and presented with Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievement and Humanitarian Awards. Dr. Braggio continues to research and publish from his home in Northern California, while finding the time to enjoy photography, film appreciation, writing and volunteer webmaster duties for the Published Writers of Rossmoor.
