After immigrating to the United States in 1976, Mr. Li began studying at the University of Hawaii, during which time he worked part-time as a night auditor at the Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel. In this position, he developed a love for numbers and became adept at predicting whether a company would do well or not financially, inspiring him to venture further into accounting as his profession in relation to costs and manufacturing. Mr. Li eventually obtained a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from the University of Hawaii in 1983.
Mr. Li subsequently excelled as an Accountant III for the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. Since 1987, he has served as a financial analyst for Bishop Estate, a tenure he cites as the proudest moment of his career. Moreover, Mr. Li has been additionally active as a bookkeeper for many small business companies.
As a dedicated accountant, Mr. Li has also worked in various positions outside of his primary responsibilities. He has found further success as a tax consultant for Li's Co. and as a tax preparer instructor at an adult school. His exemplary efforts have earned him recognition from the Internal Revenue Service. Furthermore, he maintains his professional affiliation with the National Association of Accountants. In his spare time, Mr. Li enjoys bicycling, tennis, jogging and reading.
