Dr. Whitt is a board-certified family medicine practitioner and headache specialist celebrating a decade of excellence in both clinical research and patient care. Having come of age with the ambition to pursue a career in medicine, she recalls aspiring to become a physician for much of her life. Dr. Whitt received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee, and earned a Doctor of Medicine from East Tennessee State University in 2010.
From 2011 until 2013, Dr. Whitt undertook an internship and residency in primary care medicine through Saint Vincent's Healthcare in Jacksonville, Florida. While active as a resident, she became fascinated by several different specialties, including neuroscience, which appealed to her as a lifelong sufferer of migraines. In 2013, she became a primary care practitioner for Norton Healthcare of Louisville, Kentucky, and as she continued to practice, she realized that she greatly enjoyed treating her patient's maladies. In 2019, Dr. Whitt found success as a provider at the Norton Neuroscience Institute, advancing her clinical focus to specialize in headache treatment and research.
In 2020, Dr. Whitt published her first paper through the American Headache Society, and she hopes to focus more on interventional research in the coming years. A diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the National Headache Foundation, she attributes her success to an abiding propensity for learning and a desire to improve her capacity to help patients. As a part of her dedication to promoting service, leadership, and community development, Dr. Whitt serves as an intellectual development advisor for the University of Kentucky's Alpha Phi Omega chapter. An avid reader, she can often be found enjoying new fiction and personal research when she is not in practice.
