Over the years, Dr. Waitzman-Bannister has submitted proposals to numerous U.S. government agencies and commercials companies, including the Department of Defense, General Services Administration (including Federal Systems Integration and Management Center, Department of State, Department of Justice, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Homeland Security, Office of Personnel Management, Veterans Administration, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Agency for International Development, Center for Disease Control, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin.
Prior to her founding of TWB Consulting, she gained valuable expertise in capture and proposal management primarily as the Executive Vice President for DMS International as well as a Vice President for C2 Solutions Group, Infinity Technology, VMD Systems Integrators, FC Business Systems, STG, and SIGNAL Corporation. She was also Director of Proposals for Automation Research Systems and Artel, as well as a senior proposal manager for Northrop Grumman Corporation and UIC Government Services.
During the 1980s, Dr. Waitzman-Bannister began her business development career in the field as the Manager of Business Communications for Electronic Data Systems Corporation. Several of her senior positions with various Government contracting firms included multiple aspects of quality assurance, such as obtaining ISO 9001 and CMMI certifications for more than 15 companies. Additionally, she has been a certified ISO Lead Assessor for more than 20 years, conducting external audits for more than 50 different firms.
With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, Dr. Waitzman-Bannister has contributed to a number of publications, including "Changing Liability for Educators Under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983," "Punitive Damages Against Municipalities Under Section 1983: City of New v. Facto Concerts, Inc., Educators and the Law," "Personal Tort Liability for Administrators" and "Toward More Useful Family Histories," which was published by the American Society of Human Genetics.
An expert in her field, Dr. Waitzman-Bannister earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Dayton and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Kansas State University. Subsequently, she graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in administrative law and finance from Miami University, and became certified at the Foundation, Practitioner, and Proposal Professional levels through the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), for which she has served as the Chair for Professional Development in the National Capital Area (NCA). She has also received various security clearances (SECRET and TOP SECRET) as well as served as a preliminary judge for the American Business Awards in 2013.
Before entering the business world and relocating to the metro Washington/District of Columbia area in 1986, Dr. Waitzman-Bannister was a secondary and college-level teacher in Ohio, Kansas, and Illinois for 10 years. In the coming years, Dr. Waitzman-Bannister aims to enter a well-deserved retirement – after she writes a final paper on "Making the Box Bigger Rather Than Thinking Outside the Box".
