Hailing from a family lineage of health care professionals in her native Nigeria, Dr. Gab-Ojukwu drew inspiration from her father, who was a physician in his own right. As her family owned a community hospital, she often conducted cashier and receptionist work at the hospital in her youth. Dr. Gab-Ojukwu's interactions with patients influenced her to enter the medical field herself, emphasizing that she has had a passion for serving others since childhood.
Attending the University of Jos in Nigeria, Dr. Gab-Ojukwu graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in 1995. Shortly thereafter, she immigrated to the United States to conduct clinical research in Southern California. Following this accomplishment, she undertook a residency in family medicine at the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. Following her medical training, Dr. Gab-Ojukwu joined the Colorado Permanente Medical Group as a family medicine physician, where she remains active today.
Focusing on continuity of care as a family medicine physician, Dr. Gab-Ojukwu has since served Kaiser Permanente for more than a decade. Committed to maintaining active care for her patients both in sickness and in health, she has enjoyed accompanying each of her patients during their journey towards recovery. Likewise, Dr. Gab-Ojukwu is grateful for the strong support she receives from her colleagues, who range from clinical pharmacists to behavioral health specialists.
Furthermore, Dr. Gab-Ojukwu has served as a HealthConnect ambassador for the Aurora Centrepoint Medical Offices, in which she meets with other passionate professionals once per month to learn about new technological advancements in the field and share the information with her team. She has also served as a department technical lead within the Colorado Permanente Medical Group's Department of Medical Informatics. Maintaining her professional affiliation with the American Association of Family Practice Physicians and American Medical Association, Dr. Gab-Ojukwu intends to begin conducting advocacy work in five years' time. Married to her husband Victor, they are the proud parents of three children.
