KYLE, TX, September 02, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Katlin Stephens has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Initially inspired to pursue a career in education by her first-grade teacher, Ms. Stephens struggled with reading and was grateful to have an educator who helped her both inside and outside of the classroom. She eventually discovered that she could help others grow academically but also personally through education. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies from Texas State University as well as her English as a Second Language certification. For four years, Ms. Stephens has excelled as a teacher at Bluebonnet Elementary School.
In her current position, Ms. Stephens serves as the team leader for her grade level, as she checks on her staff each morning and holds weekly team meetings. In her classroom, she practices one-on-one instruction with an expertise she gained in under two years of experience. During the 2018-2019 school year, she also established a committee consisting of several other teachers and administrators called IMPACT, which stands for "Instilling Mindsets, Promoting Academics, and Celebrating Talents." With this committee, Ms. Stephens has played an integral role in the change of culture at Bluebonnet Elementary School and students have become more involved and excited about their education and development.
For her dedicated efforts at the aforementioned school, Ms. Stephens was recently recognized as the Teacher of the Year and the Teacher of the Month. She also accepted the Most Positive Staff Member Award and the We Are All Connected Award. Ms. Stephens has attributed her success to her mother, who has always encouraged her to be the best and exhibited the value of hard work for a successful career.
Civically, Ms. Stephens volunteers as a volleyball scorekeeper for the Lockhart Independent School District. She also maintains her professional affiliation with the Texas Teachers Association. Looking toward the future, Ms. Stephens plans to become an instructional coach in a school district for reading while continuing to pursue a master's degree.
