RIPON, CA, September 09, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rick M. Clausen has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Clausen first recognized his admiration for creative design during his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. At the request of his fellow Marines, he would create sketches based on photos of their significant others while campaigning in the Vietnam war. Following the conclusion of his military service, Mr. Clausen would pursue a career in marketing, with an emphasis in graphic design.
For 30 years, Mr. Clausen excelled within the international business world of marketing with success in the renown Silicon Valley in a multitude of industries. His skill-sets were applied with such companies as Scientific Products, Hewlett Packard, Ventura Electronics, Executive Carriage, Inc., Hamlin Harkins Ltd., (a management consulting firm), and the PCMCIA ((Personal Computer Memory Card International Association). Likewise, his creative endeavors inspired his founding of RC Design studios where his talents commissioned him to produce and direct three film documentaries concerning automobile racing.
Since entering a well-deserved retirement, Mr. Clausen has authored three non-fiction books; 'The Maya of El Salvador', 'Viking Farmsteader-A Family Saga', and 'Into the Sleeping Green'. The second publication, 'Viking Farmsteader-A Family Saga', has the honor of being introduced and applied in practice by the Senior Lecturer in Publishing at the Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies, School of Arts & Humanities, Oxford Brookes University, Oxford University, England. His third work, 'Into The Sleeping Green', a narrative of his time in Vietnam, was honored by the prestigious 24th Annual Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Awards and was distinguished with 5 of 5 stars. He is currently working on a book featuring selected works of his fictional short stories.
Mr. Clausen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from California Coast University. He is a former member of the Society of Motion Picture Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the American Film Institute (AFI). Outside his vocational circles, Mr. Clausen enjoys golfing, world travel, and volunteering his time with the Society for the Blind. Despite his departure from the workforce, he plans to continue pursuing his new-found career in the writing of literary compositions.
