He later earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Nebraska, a Master of Science in statistics from Stanford University and a Doctor of Philosophy in statistics from Stanford University. While concurrently serving as a statistical consultant and researcher for the Family Research Institute, he began his post-graduate career as a senior statistician at Science Applications International Corporation. Dr. Cameron currently holds multiple appointments as president and statistical scientist for Macstat Consulting, Ltd. as well as a senior statistician with Tetra Tech, Inc.
In addition to his primary professional endeavors, Dr. Cameron also serves on the board of directors of the Family Research Institute, an organization dedicated to using science to defend the traditional family. He is also a consultant and national expert on statistical groundwater monitoring optimization for the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy. He was additionally appointed as a peer reviewer for the USEPA, an expert legal witness regarding the statistics of groundwater monitoring and a technology reviewer for the U.S. Department of Defense's ESTCP Program. He has also contributed his expertise to the field as a reviewer of articles in numerous professional journals, as well as the author of various scientific papers.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cameron has been incredibly proud to run his own consulting business for more than 25 years. He initially established his business because he harbored a desire to work for himself, had a natural love for technical work, and did not want to get lost in the corporate structure. Through his business, Dr. Cameron has conducted valuable research and completed important projects. Renowned as a national expert on groundwater statistics, Dr. Cameron has been credited with the development of statistical and geostatistical software.
Dr. Cameron is also grateful to have obtained various grants from the National Science Foundation, the USEPA and the U.S. Department of Defense. Civically, he has volunteered his time with his local church, the Boy Scouts of America, the El Paso County Representative Convention and the Classical Academy of Colorado Springs. He maintains his professional affiliation with the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Statistical Association, the Rand Alumni Association, the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council's Groundwater Statistics and Monitoring Compliance and Geostatistics Remedial Optimization Teams, and Phi Beta Kappa. In his spare time, Dr. Cameron enjoys rock collecting, playing the guitar, hiking, camping, playing tennis and cooking.
