BREMERTON, WA, September 14, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James R. Deal has been included in Marquis Who's Who in America. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Deal is a United States Navy veteran and engineer with more than 30 years of expertise in systems engineering, project management and logistics. The son of an Army veteran, he followed in his father's path to the armed forces, earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1984 before entering the United States Navy as a commissioned Surface Warfare Officer. He earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School in 1992, and returned to school in 2005 to earn a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.
From 1988 to 2018, Mr. Deal served on active duty aboard US Navy ships, as a project manager for production of US Navy weapon control systems, and as an Engineering Manager at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, honing a diverse set of skills which take advantage of his natural talents for mathematics, engineering and personnel management. He holds a Project Management Professional certification and was nominated as the NAVSEA Keyport Division Project Manager of the Year in 2016.
By the time of his military retirement in 2018, Mr. Deal had been awarded a National Defense Service Medal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, a Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the COMNAVSURFPAC Battle Efficiency Award in addition to the EH Lesinski and WJ Perry Awards for Technical Achievement, a NAVSEA Meritorious Unit Citation and a PEO-Integrated Warfare Systems Excellence Award.
Since 2018, Mr. Deal has continued his career in engineering management with FGS, LLC, an intelligence and security firm contracting with private corporations and the military. He credits his lasting success to a strong character and desire to "Work heartily as unto the Lord", a personal standard of excellence instilled in him by his father.
Mr. Deal was inducted into the International Who's Who of Professionals in 1998 and remains an active member of the International Electrical Engineering Honor Society and the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association. He looks forward to returning to school in the coming years to pursue a third master's degree and beginning his transition into a full-time project management consulting career.
